How to Wear Gingham Without Looking Like a Tablecloth

Fashion Blogger from Glam and Posh wearing gingham top and white pants for summer trend in downtown LA

One of the hottest trends for Summer, that perhaps you’ve already seen in stores is gingham. It’s such a fun print but there’s a fine line between being on-trend and looking like a tablecloth. If styled incorrectly, gingham can look very childlike. I like this print because it’s so cool and casual yet there’s something classic about it.

I recently attended a brunch in Downtown LA with a few of my blogger friends, so I wore this gingham top and I paired it with simple white pants. I love this gingham top specially because of those sleeves. Since the top is already so busy, I keep the rest of my look simple and neutral. Shop my look below and some of my favorite gingham for the Summer!

  1. Not only do I love the title of this post, but your look too! I agree it can be a tricky print to pull off but by keeping it simple as you did here, you can look fabulous! Love the entire look from head to toe! xo, Jessica

  2. You look like pure perfection! and I love the title of this post it’s perfect and so true because often with the gingham print you can come off looking like you used a tablecloth to make the shirt or whatever you’re wearing. Great post and I love the sleeves on that top. XOWP

  3. This is literally my biggest fear if I decided to finally take the plunge and wear gingham. It’s so chic and I love how you styled it but I worry it won’t look good on me haha. Hope you had fun with some blogger babes brunching!

  4. Love it! This look is absolutely pretty! Nowadays, the biggest the sleeves the better. Your gingham top is so pretty and I totally agree with you. Since this top is so busy, is better to keep the rest of your outfit simple in order to avoid looking like you’re wearing a picnic blanket. The way you styled it is sophisticated and chic!

  5. Totally agree with you! You should be very careful while styling this gingham print, otherwise you’ll end up looking ridiculous.
I personally love this trend so much, and I’ve already ordered some of the new gingham pieces, but not all of them can be styled as good as I expected. I do think that this print is very classy and can be very elegant, like this blouse you have. I love those sleeves, they are just so gorgeous and complete your very classic nude look. All in all, this print makes the whole look very chic and a bit flirty. I love it!

  9. What an incredible look! I think that’s always the thought that crosses my mind… the whole looking like a country bumpkin thing! I’ve slow but surely embraced gingham but with caution! So when you said, “without looking like a table cloth,” I was like yup, this post is for me!I love the bow ties! Also, brunch with blogger friends sounds fantastic!

  10. Ahaha I love the post name so much! That is really tricky, I still can not take that risk 🙂 But I love that blouse and how you matched it with pants, looks so stylish and beautiful

  11. Haha, I was seriously laughing when I read the title of the post as I’ve seen so many bloggers out there looking like a picnic in the park and not in a good way. The way you styled this gingham is HOW it’s done for real and that’s what separates someone (you) who has style and someone who is just following a trend.
    Great job hun!
